I am noticing a trend in Prince songs wherein the female described wears clothes unseasonable for the weather. I think I’ve heard three or four songs where he mentions this. Of course Raspberry Beret is the most obvious—when it was warm she would basically only wear a beret? Huh?

Though a lot of Prince songs celebrate slutiness and wanton sex between strangers (Darling Nikki, Cream, Gett Off) they seem to only celebrate Prince’s slutiness. There’s also another group of songs I am noticing which are all about how slutty ladies really just want to settle down.

NaPriLiMo RULES!
