unseasonable clothing
I am noticing a trend in Prince songs wherein the female described wears clothes unseasonable for the weather. I think I’ve heard three or four songs where he mentions this. Of course Raspberry Beret is the most obvious—when it was warm she would basically only wear a beret? Huh?
The Glamorous Life begins with a description of the main character, “who wears a long fur coat of mink even in the summertime.”
Sure, fashion is a big thing for Prince, but at this point, he’s reminding me more of the Ramones. What’s so attractive about unseasonable clothing?
